I keep forgetting that right outside a window at work are three major Los Angeles landmarks in plain view.
The Capitol Records building, just hiding behind this palm tree,
 the Hollywood sign,
and the Griffith Observatory. You know. Where that kid gets shot at the end of Rebel Without A Cause.

A surreal patriotic display on the back of an SUV. The head of a bald eagle flies through space like a sperm comet, leaving behind it hot-rod inspired trails of stars and stripes.

We happened to drive past the Frank Gehry house in Santa Monica today. I don't know if he still lives there, but it sure as hell looks like something he would build using his now-famous "Hulk Smash" tectonic design technique.
Built in 1978, it's this crazy mix of cheap construction materials: corrugated tin, chain-link fences, and what not.
It's actually pretty darn ugly. Interesting conceptually, I guess. I liked the huge cactus tree in the backyard, which was fenced off by an unfriendly zinc-plated driveway gate.
