On the way to Santa Cruz we passed through Castroville, which is the artichoke capital of the world.
PHOTO DIARY.
We went to Michelle and Robert's wedding over the weekend. They held a water ceremony (with samples from the guests) at a campground near Santa Cruz.
The water ceremony took place in a forest clearing...
 ...surrounded by tall trees.
The water ceremony involved all the guests combining their water, one by one, into a crystal bowl.
Then the collected water was poured into the campground swimming pool, which Michelle and Robert then frolicked in. At this point, they weren't yet married, though. That came later.
In the meantime, I ran into some old high school friends. Like Roberta, in the back row, with her husband. Or Doris and her husband, sitting next to Nicki.
Sarah was there with her husband too.
Also Michelle's niece Cassandra, acting silly.
Night fell and then came the fire ceremony, where Michelle and Robert stated their vows and then actually dwere proclaimed married.
Michelle wore glittery home-made wings. Robert wore a gold lamé shirt with dancing LED buttons, as well as pants with glowing fiber optic piping. A fire dancer celebrated the proclamation by expertly whirling flaming bolos.
Afterwards, we celebrated by eating up these crazy marzapan cakes. Congratulations to the new couple!
