PHOTO DIARY.
Me & Nicki went to Maui last week.
 Land of sunshine,
 sparkling blue waters,
 rainbows everywhere,
 and blowholes.
We also saw thrillingly gross spectacles of nature. Like this perforated volcanic rock,
this fern, with its smallpox-like pollen pods,
this ugly-ass bird with its brain on the outside,
a slug as big as a tennis ball,
plants infested by thousands of fruitflies,
these tiny plants, which close up when brushed with a fingertip,
 and giant spiders.
Wonders abound on Maui. These painted trees, for instance, on the road to Hana,
or breadfruit, simply growing by the side of the street,
 ancient temple ruins,
 and peacocks.
Not to mention things both unlikely and perplexing. This French restaurant, for instance, is located 100 feet from the ocean. Inside, it could be an underground bistro in Paris.
These mudflaps urge tailgaters to EAT PORK.
A "road closed" sign betrays a not-so-subtle dislike of tourists.
A gecko-tiled walkway at Mama's Fish House. Escher would be so proud.
A sign indicating sexy roads ahead.
And gleefully tumbling picto-people, flashing jazz-hands as they trip and fall. We saw these signs on the jetway as we returned home to grimy old L.A.
