A TRAGIC ACHIEVEMENT.
I have done it. I have finally done it. See, my commute into work has been stretching longer and longer, and what should theoretically take 25 minutes took, today, for the first time, exactly one hour. Strike up the band!
Again, the whole time I was surrounded by single drivers. I can only imagine how empty the roads would seem if they all rode scooters (like this one, maybe?) or bikes, or just drove smaller friggin cars. Believe it or not (for example), I actually saw one of these awesome electric Th!nk cars cruising down Wilshire the other day:
Apologia: I live in LA now, so that officially makes it okay to blab on and on about cars, traffic, and commutes.

YOU MEAN PEOPLE READ THIS POOP?
Katharine,
I hereby pledge to post more often. For you and all the rest of our net addict friends.
THE GUTSY ROM-COM.
Me & Nik went to see Love, Actually over the weekend, and aside from being freakin delightful as hell and good-feeling all over, the movie had a surprisingly strong political undercurrent that made me think, "Damn, a romantic comedy writer with cojones." Without spoiling anything, let's just say the movie bitches about the effects of September Eleventh in the most heartfelt, loving way possible. Left me feeling inspired. Honestly, it did! Stop being so damn cynical!
As for performances, good all around. I had forgotten that Rowan Atkins was in it--seeing Mr. Bean pop up from behind a department store jewelry counter was worth the ticket price alone. That and coming to grips with Hugh Grant playing the Prime Minister.
Side note: Since moving to LA, I find that more and more of my posts are about movies. Movies are high theater here. People clap at the end credits, fuh chrissake.
